Lisa’s Special Climb to Mt Elbrus 5,642 m (18,510 ft)

PCS June 11, 2019 – Lisa Barboza, Past PCS Chair, completed the SPS list several years ago, she has climbed internationally and has an impressive climbing resume. She’s also is the Outings Chair for the Sierra Club and will be our speaker in June.

Lisa will be talking about her climb to the top of Mt Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe and one of the so called '7 summits'.

A Discussion of Photography Equipment and Techniques for Photographing in the Backcountry w/ Ian Bornarth:

IThis month we’ll be joined by Ian Bornarth. Ian is an adventure photographer, and has recently been in Chamonix, Yosemite, and ice climbing in Ouray. He has been photographing travel and nature subjects for more than twenty years, traveling to many European countries including Russia and throughout much of the United States and North America.

As an avid participant in outdoor and adventure sports, he has created a variety of exciting images of mountaineering, kayaking, and cycling. Many of these images have been used in publications and are available as stock or fine art prints.
Ian has been teaching photography for almost twenty years, in both Connecticut and California. He has held faculty positions at the Hartford Art School, Quinnipiac University and Central Connecticut State University. He has also been exhibiting his work in galleries for many years across the country. Ian currently lives in northern California and is teaching photography at the Art Institute of California in San Francisco.
